Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning A Streetcar Named Desire tells the story of the mental and emotional demise of the determined, yet fragile, Blanche DuBois Richardson in the squalid French Quarter apartment of her married sister Ryan and animalistic brother-in-law, Stanley Reilly. Mitch Bauer, a friend of Stanley's, falls in love with Blanche before he discovers the secrets of her past.
A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Edward Hall, is slated to open officially at Studio 54 on April 26. The revival will also feature Wanda L. Houston as Negro Woman, Kristine Nielsen as Eunice Hubbell, Scott Sowers as Steve Hubbell, Will Toale as Young Collector and Teresa Yenque as Mexican Woman. While the Roundabout's previous productions at Studio 54 have featured cabaret seating, regular theater seating is being installed prior to the run of A Streetcar Named Desire.
